Stages of Product Market Fit
We're thrilled to present this edition of Growth Masters🎓, a curated collection of hacks, resources, tools, and insights designed exclusively for visionaries like you!
In this newsletter, we'll share actionable strategies to fuel your business growth, enhance scalability, and elevate your growth readiness.
Last week we ran a poll to help us understand how useful the Growth Masters🎓 content has been. Here are the results:
This small market research experiment produced a plethora of actionable insights for us to improve our 'product'.
Out of a total of 275 votes, the lowest score option, "Consistently Not Useful", received the most votes (73). The highest score option, "Raging Fan" received 7 fewer votes (66). This comes to about a 2.5% difference, and at first glance suggests that our audience is very polarized.
Overall, about 33% of subscribers found the content consistently useful, and about 20% found the content inconsistently useful. That leaves us with 47% of subscribers who found the content consistently not useful. So, it's clear that we're skewed heavier on the "not-quite useful" side.
With this knowledge, we can start to dive deeper to understand how to make Growth Masters🎓 a truly impactful audience.
This week we're going one step further, and our poll will center around what you'd like to learn about.
Make sure to vote on this week's poll so you can participate in this experiment! If you want to vote for more than one, click on both.

Stages of Product Market Fit
First Round Capital developed a Product Market Fit (PMF) framework to help B2B Founders, and there’s some overlap with B2C as well. You can find the full framework here.
According to the framework, the 4 Levels of PMF are as follows:
Level 01: Nascent - You have a handful of somewhat engaged and happy initial customers but things still feel early and messy. Focus on increasing satisfaction.
Level 02: Developing - You have more engaged, paying customers and less churn you need to work on driving demand.
Level 03: Strong - Momentum is picking up and you’re finally feeling the “pull” of demand. It’s time to focus on increasing efficiency.
Level 04: Extreme - You’re repeatably and efficiently solving an urgent problem for a large number of customers who need your product.
So to summarize, your PMF Level will help you determine where your energy and focus should be; satisfaction, demand, efficiency, repeatability (+ more efficiency).
If you want a deeper dive, check out this episode of Lenny’s Podcast where Todd Jackson, Partner at First Round Capital, dives into these levels in more detail.
